We are seeking to add two board certified orthopedic surgeons to our group near Winston-Salem/Greensboro area. The optimal candidate would be a board certified or board eligible orthopedic surgeon with excellent communication skills. Fellowship training is welcomed but not necessary. All surgeries are done at local Hospital. Physicians carry only one pager and take call at only one facility. With the new recruit, call will be 1:3 for practice call and 1:4 for ED call. The practice hours are M-F 8a -5p. There is a need for ORS because 75% of our ORS physicians are nearing or beyond retirement age. Further, we only capture 40% of our market?s ORS cases. We have achieved much higher market share in other surgical specialties. This has driven us to aggressively pursue ORS. The right physician would have a competitive base salary plus productivity bonuses. Student loan repayment and signing bonus money is available as well. This position can be paid on a WRVU basis earning the same amount per WRVU regardless of the payer source, allowing the physician to practice medicine without a risk of uncompensated care. The hospital will pay for interview expenses plus relocation. The relocation package includes a house-hunting trip paid for up to 5 nights here, plus rental car and meals.
