Job Description
LOWER SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AND RECEPTIONIST This is a full-time position within the Lower School, reporting to the Head of Lower School.
Major Responsibilities: - Serve as a school ambassador with families, and work with and support families as needed
- Monitor front door, greet and support all visitors to the Lower School
- Manage implementation of all safety protocols in Lower School in partnership with the Lower School Administration and Physical Plant including ensure all visitors follow security protocols and maintain records of who's in the building including all LS colleagues and visitors
- Answer the Lower School main phone line, direct calls where needed, take messages, and share information among Lower School administrators, teachers and families
- Collect and record daily attendance, including absences and late arrivals, in school database, as well as student dismissal plans and coordinate with teachers and families as needed
- Assist Admissions team with coordinating prospective student visits and assessments, and assist with records requests for students applying to other schools
- Maintain all student records (progress reports, standardized test scores, new student transcripts, etc.)
- Support deliveries and mailings, internal and external communications, and classroom and community events
- Tidy and maintain front desk and lobby
- Serve as key operator on division copiers and other equipment; arranges for service as no needed; maintain service logs
- Contribute positively to the employee morale; maintain a positive, pleasant demeanor to all constituencies; provide positive encouragement to students
- Assume other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment
- Ability to ascertain which people may need immediate assistance and to act accordingly
- Possess excellent speaking and writing skills, strong organizational skills, and be detail-oriented
- Reliable with a professional mannerism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook programs, along with Google Drive.
