Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on industrial machinery, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. The Maintenance Technician coaches other techs to achieve the same.

*This is a night shift position* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Ensures the removal of defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Works with other Technicians to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges and trains other technicians to do the same.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Ensures the Technical Team maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 5 years prior experience in mechanical and/or electrical position.
- Be able to read and understand blueprints and CAD.
- Have working experience with 480V/3 phase industrial equipment and controls.
- Have working knowledge of PLC and computerized controlled automated systems, equipment and functions.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Strong coaching and training skills a must.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to ask the right questions.
- Strong verbal and written communication competencies.
- Able to adhere to safety equipment and standards.
- Self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational and time managements skills.
- Must be able to travel when needed.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and night shift if necessary.
- Physical Demands: climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking. May require lifting of objects weighing up to 50lbs
