If so, Atlas Medical Group has the opportunity for you. We are actively recruiting for two Clinical Assistants/Medical Assistants to join our Practice office in Troy, Michigan.

This role is a great opportunity to work with our providers to assist with patient care, wound care, and support of patient needs. This role will require mobility and flexibility to visit patients in their home or in other medical care facilities along with our providers weekly but be based out of the Troy home office. To note, as this is an onsite role, candidates must be located in the metro Detroit area for consideration.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient histories including documenting findings on the patient medical record.
  • Assists Provider with moving the patient, supporting care delivery, and measuring and recording vital signs and other patient data.
  • Assists the Provider in patient care and treatment procedures in the patient’s homes or other medical facilities outside of a hospital or doctor’s office.
  • Ensures adequate stock and supplies are on-hand for mobile visits and ensures that they are ready for next patient.
  • Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments; practices OSHA safety standards; and performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation.
  • Assists with responding to patient questions, follow-up phone calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate and providing follow up instructions respectfully and efficiently.
  • Provides day-to-day staff support for the unit, to include preparing documents and reports, providing office services, scheduling, and facilitating meetings and travel arrangements, and/or providing dictation or transcription service.
  • Assists with patient scheduling appointments, obtains, and verifies patient billing information, as appropriate to the activities of the unit; processes patient accounts, and maintains records.

Education and Experience Desired:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of Medical Assistant Training and Certification preferred.
  • Two years previous experience as a Clinical or Medical Assistant Desired.
  • Prior experience as an either a Clinical Assistant or Medical Assistant in a Podiatric Practice or in Wound Care preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate required.
  • Medical or Clinical certification preferred.
  • A clean driving record and reliable transportation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take vital signs and perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections and dressing wounds.
  • Ability to use MS Office software including use of the internet.
  • Ability to listen carefully, analyze, and make decisions, including escalating concerns where necessary.
  • Possess good judgment, clinical skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and with patient care techniques.
