Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled software tester to focus on testing middleware retail store software, particularly Order Management Systems that integrate with inventory, merchandising, fulfillment, e-commerce sites, and ERP systems. The testing will focus on retail store readiness and OMNI functionality like BOPIS, BORIS, and Endless Isle. This role will accelerate the global rollout of additional retail stores and OMNI functionality. The tester will be responsible for planning, performing, and reporting on testing. They will work closely with business stakeholders and retail store associates to involve them early in the process. The tester will primarily test the integration of vendor-provided software with New Balance systems, working on multiple (non-developer) agile teams in the Retail Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting Structure:

• Reports administratively and for coaching to the QA Manager.
• Receives day-to-day tasks from Agile teams and QA lead.
• Shared resource across approximately 3 scrum teams.

Additional Information:

• This is a contractor position with an option to hire.
• The role requires working at the Lawrence New Balance office 3 days a week.
• Occasional off-hour meetings and travel may be required.

Must-Have Skills/Background:

• Perform testing to identify important problems in retail store middleware software.
• Collaborate with regional business stakeholders and retail store associates to test early and often.
• Experience with retail store software testing (POS, Order Management Systems).
• Previous experience in a retail environment.

Strong interpersonal skills to ask questions, learn quickly, and collaborate with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong test case design skills.
• Assist in writing test automation using UFT (VBScript) and/or Selenium (C#):
• Ability to write detailed test plans and perform cross-organization E2E software testing (e.g., from purchase to finance).
• Experience with OMNI functionality (BOPIS, BORIS, Endless Isle).
• Experience with the Aptos platform (e.g., Aptos OMS, Merch, EOM, Aptos POS).
• Experience testing vendor-supported software.

Familiarity with the SAFe Agile framework.

Need someone really good at POS testing, can pull from actual retail store experience, and can take over a UFT test automation suite (VBScript).
